A hidden gem with the best burgers!! The ingredients here are the best making this one of the best burgers in the area. Skip the big restaurants and pro es, this burger is under $15 and will satisfy all cravings. Most people order for pick up. There is a small table and diner style bar to eat in. The best quality is what keeps this little spot open and busy. Worth the drive!

Service and atmosphere is always friendly, helpful and reliable! The food was awesome 12 years ago when I retired and left the area for West Virginia cottage home! I am coming back for a special trip to get one of those Steak, cheeze and fried onion subs! Yes I will make the 300 mile round trip to get the tasty Sub! Rocky Sullivan.

Burgers delight in a unassuming little gas station old time corner store! Don't forget to stop by here for a real treat, i only really order the bacon cheeseburger here because it has such a great combination of taste and nostalgic flavor to it. It reminds me of the best burger as a kid that is not full of additives and fillings but also fresh! This place will not be the one you will take your first date to impress, because it is still an old and not the cleanest little carry out but do come and get some to go and you won't be disappointed. It is quite a drive from the city so, if you plan your route to somewhere else, just try to make a detour and stop by!

I've been coming here since 1987 although it's been around for a lot longer than that. This place is a local favorite lunch stop for doctors, lawyers, bankers, farmers, roofers, truck drivers, you name it. Not cardiologists though. The establishment has the best burger ever made anywhere, hands down. Fresh half-pound of ground chuck from Mt Airy Meat locker delivered daily. Buns are the same buns used at Burger King for the whopper, unavailable in grocery stores. Secret homemade dry seasoning mix goes on each burger during the cook and can't be beat. Grilled on a griddle that has at least a half century of seasoning cooked into it. This is a very slow-cooked burger and is then sliced in half and wrapped tight in a burger wrap, which allows the burger steam to flavor the bun. Amazingly tender, juicy and flavorful which is what sets it apart. Cheese is American or provolone, your choice. Super friendly staff. Might be wise to call ahead as burgers are cooked and made to order and take about 20 minutes if there is no crowd. My old neighbor, Mr. Ruby, used to drive out to Sunshine for a burger about once a month. He'd get into his old Cadillac and drive from Glen Echo to Sunshine. About a 45-50 min drive. Worth it! He'd get two burgers, one for him and one for his dog. Cash only. Limited seating inside. Take out advised, although they have a couple nice picnic tables outside overlooking some farmland if the weather's nice. I memorized their phone number long ago. 774-7428.

I eat a lot of burgers (as Yelp has pointed out to me) & the Sunshine Burger is truly a champion! A king among kings! 1st the beef is juicy w a perfect char around the edges. Juicy but not that it drips all down your hand. Probably a good 8oz patty. My husband said his bacon cheeseburger was the best he's ever had. The best! Why? He said the bacon was perfectly cooked & was in every bite including the last. The super nice ladies will cook your Sunshine burger exactly as you like it - perfection on a bun. Please note they can get pretty busy sometimes so it's possible to order your burger or sandwich ahead. Speaking of sandwiches- the BLT the lady got looked amazing! Take a trip out to Sunshine & get super awesome lunch!
